Harold and the Purple Crayon - line variety
We have been discussing the art element LINE (zigzag, wavy, broken, straight, curved, spiraled...). In The Harold series of books Harold creates imaginary places using his magical purple crayon and lines.
Students first painted with purple tempera paint and practiced making lines with a paintbrush. The next art class, students used oil pastels to add more lines to their paintings.
